A delegation from Türkiye, headed by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, is participating in the events, underscoring the importance of the occasion. As part of the commemoration, Türkiye has arranged for naval vessels to be open for public visits, and is set to launch a new maritime traffic monitoring center in Famagusta, aiming to bolster cooperation in the strategically significant Eastern Mediterranean region.
The anniversary arrives at a time when negotiations regarding the future of Cyprus remain at a standstill. Turkish Cypriot leaders continue to push for a two-state solution that emphasizes sovereign equality.
