In a recent statement, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan clarified that his government is not involved in the internal political and legal conflicts plaguing the country’s primary opposition party. He urged political figures to prioritize national interests over internal discord. Speaking after a Cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdoğan reaffirmed the ruling alliance’s dedication to serving Turkey and pushing forward its long-term development objectives.

Erdoğan stressed that the disputes within the opposition are internal matters of the party and should not concern the government. His administration, he asserted, remains focused on solidifying Turkey’s future, maintaining stability, and tackling issues impacting all citizens. He cautioned against any attempts to provoke political tension or social unrest, emphasizing the need to safeguard Turkey’s democratic framework and public order.

The president also called for unity and collaboration on significant national issues, highlighting the government’s initiatives to bolster security and ensure enduring stability. He encouraged political leaders to engage constructively in efforts aimed at overcoming the country’s challenges, suggesting a cooperative approach to governance.

These comments come amidst ongoing rifts within the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), where leadership disputes and legal issues stemming from the party’s 2023 congress have intensified internal tensions. This turmoil has cast uncertainty over the party’s path forward as it looks ahead to the next general election.

Despite these political disagreements, Erdoğan reiterated his government’s commitment to prioritizing national interests, reinforcing social cohesion, and fostering economic development, while maintaining an inclusive governance approach. He underscored the importance of working together to address the pressing issues facing the nation.
