Marking the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, Türkiye and China are strengthening ties across various sectors, including trade, technology, and regional cooperation. Türkiye’s Ambassador to China, Selçuk Ünal, highlighted the deep-rooted historical connections between the two nations, which date back to the era of the Silk Road, a significant trade route that facilitated cultural and diplomatic engagements between the civilizations.
Since establishing formal diplomatic relations in 1971, the partnership between Türkiye and China has grown substantially. China now stands as Türkiye’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding $50 billion each year. This economic bond is complemented by enhanced connectivity, as more passenger and cargo flights are now bridging major cities in both countries. Additionally, Türkiye has broadened its diplomatic outreach in China with the establishment of multiple consulates.

These include artificial intelligence, green energy, infrastructure, and commerce, as noted by Ambassador Ünal.
