Circularo is strengthening the cybersecurity skills of UAE students by returning as a Gold Sponsor for the 2026 School of Cyber Defence competition. This educational event, organized by TechFirm Technology LLC and backed by the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), aims to engage university students in practical cybersecurity scenarios. The competition will culminate in a final event on September 18, 2026, at GISEC Global in Dubai, where five teams will present their solutions to a panel of cybersecurity experts.
The competition begins with an online qualification round, where participants are tested on their abilities. Successful teams will then tackle a case study that requires them to evaluate a security challenge and devise an effective response. After an expert review, the top five teams will receive mentoring before moving on to the final competition. The 2026 challenge will cover critical areas such as network protection, threat management, system security, and incident response, with a focus on artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
Circularo’s sponsorship is aimed at providing students with practical experiences that go hand-in-hand with their academic learning. The company also plans to engage directly with participants through classroom sessions and other interactive formats, sharing industry expertise. The initiative builds on the success of the inaugural School of Cyber Defence competition at GISEC Global 2025, which saw participation from over 300 applicants from UAE universities, with 130 students advancing past the qualification rounds.
The competition is open to students aged 17 and above, who can form teams of up to five members. Experience from previous competitions is not a prerequisite. The event promises a prize pool exceeding AED 20,000, adding a competitive edge to the educational experience. Key dates for the competition include the closing of registration on September 3, 2026, online qualification by September 6, the case study and jury assessment from September 7 to 11, finalists and mentoring announced on September 14, leading up to the final competition on September 18, 2026, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai.
