Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has urged for intensified diplomatic efforts to achieve a fair and lasting peace in the Russia-Ukraine war during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Türkiye’s Presidential Communications Directorate, Erdoğan reaffirmed Ankara’s commitment to supporting international dialogue aimed at ending the conflict.
The discussion also covered Türkiye-Russia bilateral relations and broader regional developments. Erdoğan emphasized that diplomacy remains the only viable path to resolving the ongoing crisis, underscoring Türkiye’s willingness to mediate between Moscow and Kyiv.
In addition, Erdoğan addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, reiterating Türkiye’s push for a cease-fire and the delivery of aid to civilians. He stressed that preventing further suffering and restoring regional stability remain key priorities for Ankara.
The Turkish president also extended birthday greetings to Putin during the conversation, reflecting continued diplomatic engagement between the two leaders despite global tensions.
