A pioneering educational institution in Türkiye has achieved international recognition, with Cezeri Green Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Ankara making it to the finals of the World’s Best School Prizes. This high school, which specializes in renewable energy, stands out in the Environmental Action category, underscoring its commitment to innovation and societal contributions since its inception in 2017.
The school’s curriculum is deeply integrated with renewable energy systems, providing students with hands-on experience in working with real energy systems and analyzing energy data. These programs aim to instill a strong foundation in reducing carbon emissions, enhancing energy efficiency, and advocating for zero-waste practices. A significant initiative by the school is the Energy Detectives Project, which educates middle school students about carbon footprints and conservation efforts. In this project, students actively engage in monitoring energy and water consumption at their schools, striving to lower usage.
Beyond educational programs, the school has extended its expertise to disaster relief efforts. Notably, it developed an energy bank designed to supply electricity to temporary shelters in the aftermath of earthquakes, showcasing its practical application of renewable energy technology in times of crisis.
